The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue

This book is a love letter to all the artists all while making you grapple with your own self concept. The more I think about it the more I have question but this book made me come to the realisation that not all questions are meant to be answered and the importance of ambiguity in literature. While I did have issues with some of the characters lack of depth, the main couple having borderline nonexistent chemistry, and the lack of consistency regarding Addies dilemma this is the most beautifully written book I have read this year. In the oversaturated sea of fantasy-esque fiction schwabs prose reigns supreme. Addie’s ability to garner such a large influence on the world solely from her fleeting interactions really made me consider the interconnectedness of the world and the ability to influence others. I would reread this with my highlighters, pens, and sticky notes - truly a book deserving of deliberate annotation and not a quick read on a plane ride. But I digress, it’s a perfect read for what it is and I will stop trying to garner judgement stemming from what I want it to be. 5/5 stars 🌟
